Sichuan giant panda base was listed as world natural heritage on 12th June 2006. It is located in Sichuan province , including Wolong, Siguniang mountain and Jiajin mountain, with an area of 9245 kilometers, across Chengdu, Ya’an, Aba Tibetan Qiang ethnic minority ,Ganze Tibetan autonomous region. Sichuan giant panda base has affluent botanical species, the biggest and the most complete giant panda habitat in the world. 30% of the wild giant pandas in the world are living here, where is also the habitat for endangered species such as small pandas, snow leopards and cloud leopards.

The ecology is very good with seven national nature protection areas, Wolong nature protection area, Fengyongzhai natureprotection area, Siguniang mountain nature protection area, Laba river nature protection area, Black river nature protection area, Kongyu nature protection area, Caopo nature protection area, all of which are the biggest and most complete habitat for giant pandas in the world, also with the most affluent botanies in the temperate zone in the world. There are 1600 giant pandas in our country nowadays according to a recent statistical report.
