Wuyi mountain in Fujian was listed into World Biosphere Protection Area in 1988, World Heritage Directory in December 1999. Wuyi mountain is located in Wuyi ,northwest of Fujian province, 15 kilometers south of the downtown, southeast part of the northern Wuyi mountain, with 70 kilometers scenic area. It is the typical Danxia terrain, through thousands of million years’ superlative craftsmanship, magnificent mountains and blue water and beautiful scene were formed. Anciently praised as” three plus three water blue , six plus six peak magic”, Lushan was praised as ”the No 1 famous for its queer and beauty in the southeast.”

The essence of Wuyi mountain scenic area is Jiuqu Creek. Jiuqu creek originates from Sanbao hill, with clear and blue stream and zigzag along the hill to form a famous scene” every stream encircle the hill and every hill with stream encircle it’ in Jiuqu. The most famous peaks and magic hanging coffins hung in the cliffs are near the brooks in Jiuqu. There are many scenic spots with high human values such as Yulin pavilion, Song dynasty porcelain kiln sites and Wuyi Palace and so on. There are many other famous places such as Chong You Wang Nian Palace, Rainbow Bridge, Jia He Boat Coffin and world rare animals and botanies, it is the national important natural protection area. There is also Wuyi mountain natural museum.

Wuyi mountain is also a famous historical cultural mountain. The scholar Zhuxi in South Song dynasty lived here for about 40 years, teaching students and publishing books and establishing theories, making this place a cultural center in the southeast of China. There are more than 2000 praising poetries including which 400 were inscribed onto the cliffs, all of which are the affluent human and cultural historical sites adding colors to this famous mountain.

Wuyi mountain natural protection area is the largest and the best preserved Mid-Asian tropical forest ecological system in the southeast of China. There are shoulder -by –shoulder peaks , verdant primitive forest ,magnificent, old and beautiful scene, as well as varied biological resources, it is listed into United Nations Human and Nature protection area.
