In December 1996, Jiangxi Lushan cultural scenic heritage was listed into World Heritage Directory. Lushan is located in the south of Jiujiang city in Jiangxi province which is on the south bank of the middle reaches of Yangtze river, near the biggest cove Poyang Lake in China, is a horst type fault-block mountain. The huge mountain, river and lake are mixed together, steep with mellow, it is famous all over the world for “ majestic, queer, steep, beautiful”. It is also one of the famous mountains in China with magnificent and majestic mountains, changeable cloud sea, magic springs and falls, long historical cultural relics. The main scenic spots are Wulao Peak, Sandie Spring, Hanfan Kou, Lulin lake, Big Tianchi, Flower path .Ruqin lake, Jinxiu valley, Fairy cave, Small Tianchi, Donglin temple, Bailu cave college, Lushan botanical park, Lushan museum to name a little. Gulin village is a magic mountain village on Lushan as well as the tourism center of Lushan scenic area.

It is 25 kilometers long and 20 kilometers wide of Lushan scenic area with the highest peak Hanyang peak 1474 meters. Lushan is a fractured fault-block mountain caused by chasm construction so there are many magic peaks and magnificent mountains with varied postures. But from Guling street to Hanyang peak and other peaks, the relative height is not very large, with gentle slope and gracious valley, to form a “steep outside and flat inside “ magic terrain which is convenient for visiting. The rainfall in Lushan is abundant, climate is pleasant, the botany here are verdant, just a natural botanical garden.

Lushan has unique Lushan culture with important scientific and aesthetical values. It is 302 square kilometers in Lushan scenic area with 500 square kilometers outer protection belt. It is the Chinese ancient education base and religious center. Bailu Cave college was found in 940 AD, as the first in the four Chinese ancient colleges. In 391AD , the head of the Buddhism Huiyuan established Donglin temple which is the earliest temple garden in China. There has been the best preserved international villa community since now. Lushan is the summer resort famous both at home and abroad with more than 600 Britain, American, German, France style villas.
