Route Feature:
It is one of the major festivals in Tibet, also known as the Tibetan Opera
Festival. The founder of the Gelugpa (Yellow Sect of Buddhism), Tsongkhapa
set the rule that Buddhists can cultivate themselves only indoor in summer,
to avoid killing other creatures carelessly.
The tour itinerary:
Day 1: Chengdu - Lhasa by airplane
Departing from Chengdu to Lhasa in the morning,arriving at Lhasa Gonggar
airport which is at a elevation of 3000 meters, guide will meet you at
the airport,drive to Lhasa urban area, en route visit Brahmaputra valley,
Buddha Sculpture made in the 11th century and Tibetan village etc. on
the drive to Lhasa and check in the Hotel, Free and have a good rest in
the Lhasa city today, avoid extreme physical activity and sickness of
high altitude.overnight in Lhasa.

Day 2 :Lhasa Full Day City Tour
Visit the main tourist attractions in Lhasa:Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple
and Barkhor Street

Day3: Lhasa-Yangbache hot-spring-Lhasa
Drive about 70km west of Lhasa to Tsurphu Monastery, which is the seat
of the Karmapa branch of the Kagyupa order of Tibetan Buddhism. Tsurphu
Monastery is set in a valley. If you are acclimatised the altitude, you
can do the Tsurphu Kora. It winds up some 150m,providing splendid views
of Tsurphu below. Afternoon drive to Yangbachen to have hot-spring. Overnight
at Lhasa .

Day4: Lhasa-Yamdrok lake-Xigatze-Lhatse
Up to Kambala pass which is 4794m high, you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso
there. It is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Then drive back to
Chushul, along Nepal friendship way to Xigatze, visit Tashilunpo Monastery
and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas in the afternoon. Overnight
at Lhatse.

Day5: Lhatse- New Tinggri (Shegar)- Rongphu Monastery - E.B.C
Early morning start driving to Rongphu via Shegar, some parts of the road are with constructions. On the way you will cross over Gyatsola Pass at
5,220m, which is the highest enroute, and from the pass you will see the
Himalaya mountain ranges in a clear day.
Rongphu is the highest monastery in Tibet, still a good point to see Mt.Everst.
Afternoon start trekking from Rongphu to E.B.C, it takes about 2 hours.
Or you can take animal carriage ( 30rmb/per person,round-trip). Overnight
at Rongphu guest house.(dorm beds)
Note: The entrance fee of Mt. Everest Base Camp is 65rmb/per person. Then
Entry fee of the Landcruiser to E.B.C. is 405rmb. It is a bit cold to
stay at Rongphu, so you'd better to take your sleeping bag with you.

Day6: Rongphu/ Shegar/Xigatze
If you are lucky enough, you will see sunrise at E.B.C.. About noon time,
start driving back to Xigatze. Overnight at Xigatze.

Day7: Xigatze -Lhasa
After breakfast, drive to Gyantse, only 90km from Xigatze. You will visit
the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumpum, the most stunning architectural wonder
in Tibet. Afternoon drive back to Lhasa along the friendship way. Overnight
at Lhasa.

Day8:Lhasa - Chengdu by airplane
Leave from Lhasa for Chengdu by airplane,the end .
